On Friday, January 1, 2027, Prison 2 Praise Ministries will begin RISE: Walk Across America, a national journey from California toward the 9/11 Memorial in New York.
This walk exists to honor survivors of crime, stand with children of incarcerated parents, and bring attention to the ripple effects of harm that reach families, communities, correctional staff, law enforcement, first responders, and people across the country.
RISE: Walk Across America is more than a walk. It is a public act of remembrance, accountability, restoration, and hope.
Along the way, Prison 2 Praise Ministries will connect with prisons, churches, survivor organizations, families, community leaders, correctional partners, law enforcement, first responders, sponsors, and supporters who believe harm must never be minimized and people can still be restored.
Restoration cannot begin by avoiding harm. It must begin by facing it.
From California to the 9/11 Memorial, this walk carries one message across the country:
People can be restored, but harm must never be minimized.
Why This Walk Matters
Crime, violence, incarceration, trauma, and loss create ripple effects that do not end when a case closes, a sentence begins, or a person comes home.
RISE: Walk Across America exists to make those ripple effects visible.
This walk honors survivors of crime whose pain must never be minimized, forgotten, or pushed aside. It stands with families of victims and survivors who continue carrying the weight of what happened. It lifts up children of incarcerated parents, an often-forgotten group living with separation, confusion, grief, shame, and questions they did not create.
It also recognizes families impacted by incarceration, correctional staff, law enforcement, first responders, and communities carrying trauma from the violence, crisis, loss, and broken trust they have seen or experienced.
This walk is not about minimizing harm. It is not about celebrating incarceration. It is not about asking survivors to move on.
It is about remembrance, responsibility, survivor honor, family awareness, restoration, and hope.
From California to the 9/11 Memorial, this walk carries one message across the country:
People can be restored, but harm must never be minimized.
RISE: Walk Across America will connect with people and communities across the country.
Along the route, Prison 2 Praise Ministries will seek to connect with prisons, churches, survivor organizations, families, community leaders, correctional staff, law enforcement, first responders, reentry partners, sponsors, and supporters.
The walk will create opportunities for prayer, conversation, awareness, media engagement, community gatherings, survivor-honoring connections, and partnerships that continue beyond the miles.
This journey is not only about reaching New York.
Survivors must be honored. Children of incarcerated parents must be seen. Families must be supported. Communities must be heard. And restoration must be built with truth.
RISE: Walk Across America will require prayer, planning, sponsorship, community connections, and practical support.
Your support can help Prison 2 Praise Ministries prepare for the journey, connect with communities along the route, honor survivors, lift up children of incarcerated parents, share stories, build partnerships, and carry this message across the country.
This walk begins with steps, but it is carried by people who believe the message matters.
Survivors must be honored. Children of incarcerated parents must be seen. Families must be supported. Communities must be heard. And restoration must be built with truth
